Kids need an abundance of nutrients – but it isn’t always easy getting them to eat the right foods, such as fruits and vegetables. Beet juice has a ton of health benefits – especially for kids. And these beet juice recipes are so tasty, even kids will enjoy them!

Giving juice to a child is a terrific way to introduce them to the great taste and nutritional benefits of a diet rich with fruits and vegetables – a diet they might at first be resistant to adopt after being presented with these produce items in their natural, raw form.  Take beets, for example.  We discovered kids who are intimidated at the sight of a raw beet have no problem drinking our beet/orange juice. Kids are typically attracted to the vibrant color of the orange juice. Also, they love the taste of the sweet combination of oranges and beets together.

Incorporating juices into your child’s diet can help promote life-long healthy eating habits. It is essential to educate children at a young age on the health benefits associated with consuming vegetables and fruits. In order for children’s bodies to properly develop and grow they need to ingest the nutrients from food sources such as fruits and vegetables.

Beets are a nutritional powerhouse for the human body at any age. They prove to be an excellent source of folate – which has a positive effect on cardiovascular, neural and psycho-emotional health. They’re also a very good source of manganese, potassium, and copper. Additionally, beets are a good source of dietary fiber, magnesium, phosphorus, vitamin C, iron, and vitamin B6. They promote eye health and overall nerve tissue health. Beet greens contain vitamin K and A which is critical for bone health.

The pigments that give beets their rich purple color are called betalains, which provide antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and detoxification support to the body. The detoxification attribute is especially beneficial because it allows young bodies to get rid of the harmful toxins that are in over processed and preservative filled foods available today.

Beets have also been suggested to have anti-cancer benefits that are overwhelming, reducing risk for a multitude of cancer types.
