This is a sampling of some of the recipes by Adrienne Drew using citrus juices from Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company. We provide a video to show you how easy the first recipe actually is. (This video uses 3 cups of grapefruit juice instead of 1 1/3 cups listed. You can vary the amount of juice depending on how much you want to make and how much champagne you want to taste.) Enjoy!
Natalie’s Orchid Island Grapefruit and Champagne Sorbet
(Mmm… this is delectable! However, it is not for children!!!)
1 1/3 Cups Natalie’s Orchid Island Grapefruit Juice
3 Cups brut champagne — any brand
1 1/4 Cup sugar
1 1/4 Cup water
1/2 teaspoon fresh tarragon (optional)
In medium sauce pan over medium heat, combine sugar and water. Stir until mixture comes to a boil. Simmer on low heat 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and cool 20 minutes. Stir all ingredients together in a bowl. Pour into a shallow pan and put in the freezer. Using a whisk, stir the mixture intermittently in the freezer as it turns slushy. When frozen to desired consistency, scoop into serving glasses. Yummy!
Instead of pouring into shallow pan, you can pour into an ice cream maker and let it churn.
