Mangrove Matties Key Lime Pie

Pam Mitchell, a citrus grower in Bartow, Florida, enjoys a slice of Key Lime Pie at a Fort Pierce landmark, Mangrove Matties. The recipe is as follows:

 

 

Mangrove Matties Keylime Pie
12 egg yolks
2 quarts condensed milk
1 cup Orchid Island Lime juice
2 lime zests
1 oz. vanilla extract
1 oz. corn starch

2 9″ graham pie shells

combine all ingredients and mix well add to pie shells

baked for 10 minutes at 350, refrigerate at least 2 hrs to set, top with whip cream and lime wedge
