Natalie’s Abroad!
Jacques from France and Marygrace Sexton, CEO Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company.
Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company is situated in a historical building nestled along the Indian River Lagoon in Ft. Pierce. But, just because we’re small doesn’t mean we don’t have a grand vision! Our juice is available in grocery stores throughout Florida, the Midwest, along the Eastern Seaboard, and … in Europe and Asia!
This week, Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company hosted our European distributor, Jacques from France. Our “Fresh Squeezed, Fresh Frozen” juice is considered an exquisite delicacy in Europe.
Most of the citrus juice consumed overseas consists of over-processed products that only vaguely resemble the taste of fresh, Florida citrus and contain none of the nutritional benefits of fresh juice.
For our European customers, Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company squeezes fresh citrus and immediately freezes it for shipment. Unlike many other exported frozen products, Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice is not a concentrate — which is a vacuum process that extracts the liquid from the juice, along with the vitamins and minerals.
To many, the taste of Natalie’s Orchid Island “Fresh Squeezed, Fresh Frozen” juice is indistinguishable from our other fresh squeezed products.
According to a recent report by Food Production Daily (4/16/09), fruit juice is a recession-proof commodity in France. Author Jess Halliday writes that “fruit juices are the most popular beverages in France after alcoholic drinks and water….” Consumption of pure fruit juice was up 9.3% last year. “The French are… the biggest drinkers of fruit juice in Europe – on a par with UK consumers, and just behind the Germans.”
