FEBRUARY IS NATIONAL GRAPEFRUIT MONTH
A TIME TO GET FIT WITH NATALIE’S ORCHID ISLAND JUICE
FORT PIERCE, Florida/February 1, 2010 – Love is in the air in February! A recent study conducted by the University of Western Ontario cited research that attributed weight loss in mice to a flavonoid called naringenin. “The study found that naringenin actually caused the liver to reprogram itself to burn fat instead of store it,” said Lisa Rymer, spokesperson for Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company. “Amazingly, the study also found that naringenin corrected the elevation in triglyceride and cholesterol, prevented the development of insulin resistance, and normalized glucose metabolism,” added Rymer.
The grapefruit study findings are published online in the journal Diabetes. “We think everyone who has a concern over their weight or Type 2 Diabetes should review these amazing grapefruit findings and discover for themselves the benefits of grapefruit,” noted Rymer.
In another recent study, conducted by Hikkaido University in Japan and published in the journal Food Chemistry, grapefruit is credited with possibly aiding in the increased absorption of CoQ10, an oil-soluble substance produced by the human body that is essential for basic cell functioning. CoQ10 levels decrease with age, which is why people are using dietary supplements to increase the levels. “There is evidence that taking CoQ10 supplements with grapefruit juice is particularly helpful for people suffering from angina, heart attack, hypertension and neurodegenerative diseases,” concluded Rymer.
